Water hyacinth (commonly known as water hyacinth) grows luxuriantly in Thailand. After being collected and dried in the sun, it can be used to make all kinds of weaving products, such as baskets, hats, sandals or animal-shaped toys. “Masan,” (Thai, literally meaning “weaving horse”) is one of them. The designer Terawat Teankaprasith (one of the six winners of the first international square scarf design competition launched by Hermès in 2019) used this ancient technique as inspiration to create this pattern. Extraordinary momentum, otherworldly.
